Let's go Bananas, School is out! party

To celebrate the end of another fantastic school year, we had a "Let's go Bananas, school is out!" pool party.
I wanted to have a simple but cute party for the girls.  The banner  and the table cloth were made from a jungle theme fabric, the monkeys and silk leaves were from my daughter's Go Diego Go party 4 years ago(see how good it is to save stuff? :) ), the food was very simple but yummy! We had vegetable platter, chicken nuggets, chips, mozzarella sticks, cheese and ham croissant rolls, cupcakes and Banana Split Sundae cupcakes! For the favors, napkin rings and water bottle wrappers, I used monkey theme scrapbook paper. Everything was very easy to make and I was able to enjoy the party with the girls!

My daughter made these really cute invitations! I think she gets her talent from her mommy! :)

The favors were made with tissue roll! For the tutorial click HERE.

I used scrapbook paper to make the cupcake wrapper!

To make this yummy Banana Split Sundae cupcake, just make mini cupcakes, frost them, drizzle some chocolate syrup , add some sprinkles,  some banana shape marshmallow and a cherry!

Cheers to a great school year and to some wonderful memories!!

Each girl took home a CD with pictures from the party.

Upcycle - Necklace made out of Soda Cans

After making all my Metal Flowers out of soda cans from last week's project, I end up with a lot of soda can bottoms.
Found a way to use some of them(still figuring out other ways to use them) by making this upcycle project!!
Would you have guessed that this set was made out of soda cans?

You will also need pliers and sandpaper for this project.

This was the necklace that I had in mind but didn't like it all that much.

Cut the bottom of the can to a size that fits your taste. Using a sandpaper, sand it all around the circle to avoid any sharp spots.
Using the hammer, drill 2 small holes to each side of the circles.
Using the round rings, conect the circles to the chain.

 Getting better at each time!
So many ways you can use them.
Hope the picture tutorial will help you make some pretty ones too!
Enjoy!

Using a scrapbook brad, secure your flowers together.
